Since the student would return to their home country after their academic program ends, the F1 visa applicant must have permanent residence in a foreign country.2. AdmissionPrevious admission to a Student and Exchange Visitor Program approved school is required to be granted an F1 visa. Before you submit your visa application, you must be admitted to the school.Many of the visa application steps require forms from the school. Without prior admission, you will be unable to complete many of the visa application steps.Keep in mind that the following types of programs are automatically ineligible to be a SEVP school: home schools; preschools; public elementary or middle schools; distance education; and online schools. Scholarship notices, bank statements, or previous year’s tax returns could be used to prove the student will be provided with funding for their living and school expenses in the United States, as legal employment opportunities in the United States are limited to students on F1. This proves that the student plans to return to their home country after their academic program ends, as an F1 visa only allows temporary residency.Be aware that if your visa interviewer believes you do not plan to return to your home country after your academic program ends, they will likely deny your visa application.If you do not have any of these reasons, then you can demonstrate how you plan to use your US education in your home country instead.

How to apply for an F1 Visa?

The F1 visa process is complex, but don't let it stop you from applying! SEVP stands for Student and Exchange Visitor Program, and it gives the program government approval to accept foreign students. You can find a full list of SEVP programs on the Department of Homeland Security's website.-Pay SEVIS fee, get I-20 after being accepted to a SEVP program, and you'll be added to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System. The SEVP college or university you plan to attend will send you a Form I-20 after you pay the fee, and then you are ready to apply for an F1 visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.Place your I-120 form on your desk for now, as you'll show it at your consulate officer at the start of your visa interview. There are a few exceptions for students who do not need to meet with a visa officer at the interview. These exceptions are for students who are aged 13 or older than 80 years old. If you are required to attend a pre-trial interview, please schedule it with the US embassy or consulate in your home country.In the event that you are applying during a busy period, you should apply for your visa as early as possible to ensure that your visa will be issued prior to the start of your program.
